The Easy Templates for Jira Data Center app simplifies this process, allowing you to quickly update issues with standardized information. Follow these steps to apply a template to an existing issue in Jira Cloud!

Step 1: Accessing the Apply Template Feature
Locate the Issue: Navigate to the issue you wish to update.
Open the Issue Menu: Click on the "•••" (More) icon at the top-right of the issue view.
Select "Apply Template": From the dropdown menu, find and click on “Apply template”. This opens the template application interface.
Step 2: Choosing the Right Template
View Available Templates: A list of templates will be displayed. These templates are based on the scope you or your team have set—either global or specific to your project.
Select a Template: Browse through the available templates and select the one that fits your needs for the current issue.
Apply the Template: After selecting the appropriate template, click on the “Apply” button. This action will start the process of updating the issue with the template’s predefined fields and data.

Step 3: Confirming the Update
Review the Changes: Once you click “Apply”, the issue will be automatically updated with the data from the chosen template. Take a moment to review the changes to ensure that all information is accurate and relevant to the issue.
Finalizing the Update: If the updated information is correct, no further action is needed. If adjustments are required, you can edit the issue manually as usual.

Note: if you don’t want your target issue values to be replaced - go to Manage Template and disable all irrelevant fields
