Applying pre-defined templates to existing issues in Jira can significantly streamline your workflow. The Easy Templates for Jira Data Center app simplifies this process, allowing you to quickly update issues with standardized information. Follow these steps to apply a template to an existing issue in Jira Cloud!
Instructions
Go to your Jira issue
Open "More" menu
Click the "Apply template" menu item
Choose the template from the given list and click “Apply”
Then Jira Issue will be updated. Data will be overridden by field values from Template.
Note: if you don’t want your target issue values to be replaced - go to Manage Template and disable all irrelevant fields
Subtasks will be auto-populated with the "Apply" method as well
Note: if you don’t want subtasks to be added -go to Manage Template → Template Details → disable option “Create child issues and subtasks”
