Here you will learn how to create a new issue from Jira template with Easy Templates for Jira Data Center app.

Instructions

  1. Go to your Jira instance

  2. Open "Issues" menu

  3. Click “Create from template” menu item

     

To see "Create from Template" menu item the user needs to have Bulk Change permission. Go to Global Permissions -> Grant Bulk Change permission to a users group

  1. Choose the target Project, Issue Type, Template

  2. Click "Create"

A new Jira issue will be created immediately and pre-filled with the following fields

  • Summary

  • Description

  • and the rest of the saved fields

Sub-tasks will be auto-generated for corresponding issues containing their own summary and descriptions

You can also use a hotkey to call the Templates selection dialog. Just press "x" inside your Jira instance.
